MakeInspires
Tuesday 2:45-5:00pm - Little Scientists (K-2)
Little Scientists takes students on a journey through the wonderful world of experiments, reactions, modeling, and more! Each week students will complete a fun take-home project that will support their knowledge of the many fields of science. This is a great class to get hands-on and curious as we build and experiment to answer some of the world’s biggest questions with science.

Wednesday 2:45-5:00pm - 3D Printing & Design (2-5
The first step to 3D printing is 3D design. Using TinkerCAD, accessible software purpose-built for education, we'll create architectural models, rockets, functioning prints and more! Students will dive into the world of digital fabrication while developing their critical thinking and design skills.

Thursday 2:45-5:00pm - Rocketry Jr. (K-2)
Welcome to the thrilling world of Rocketry! Join MakeInspires for an immersive journey into the captivating history and awe-inspiring science behind rockets. Through hand-on projects, participants will unravel the principles of propulsion, aerodynamics, and space travel. Space enthusiasts will construct and launch their rockets, applying newfound knowledge to achieve soaring success. Inspires curiosity and fostering a deeper appreciation for space exploration, this Rocketry class promises an exhilarating experience that will lift their aspirations skyward.

At its core, Big Apple Youth Sports is a fast paced K-5 sports development after school program with over 30 years of experience! BA coaches possess a deep knowledge of their respective sports and pass that knowledge along via fun drills, creative games and inter class tournaments to nurture the potential of its students both on and off the field.
Our classes offer encouragement and teach sportsmanship, discipline, and leadership to its students to develop lasting friendships and valuable life skills in a fun, inclusive, and healthy environment.
BA classes cover Basketball, Soccer, Floor Hockey, European Handball, Baseball, and many other fast paced sports depending on the day! BA has also designed its own popular sports that help develop agility and hand eye coordination in a new fun and creative way.
BA classes run Monday - Friday on site at YCS from 2:45 to 5PM.
Extended Day Pick up is available between 5:05 and 6PM for an additional fee.

The BA Sports 4K Class on Thursdays - Classes held at YCS
A fun, high-energy developmental physical education class created just for Pre-K (4K) students! Each week focuses on skills that support school readiness, physical coordination, and social development — all through exciting games and joyful movement.
Classes will build confidence and capability in:
● Balance & Agility
● Motor Skills & Body Awareness
● Sharing, Teamwork & Communication
● Safety in Sports
● Following Directions & Structured Transitions
Each class centers around a theme such as BALANCE or SHARING, with all drills and games creatively built around that concept. For example:
● BALANCE Week: fun balance beams, movement challenges, and silly balance games
● SHARING Week: partner activities, team games, and learning to work cooperatively
Sports Introduced: Soccer, Kickball, & Track
What We’ll Do Each Week
1. Free Movement Activities
Jumping, dancing, skipping, and joyful movement freedom.
2. Hand–Eye Coordination Skills
Catching, throwing, aiming, and beginner ball-handling work.
3. Structured Skill-Building
Practicing lining up, taking turns, listening to instructions, and positive peer interactions.
4. Spatial Awareness Play
Learning how to move safely and confidently in open space.
5. Motor Skill Development
Agility, balance, strength, and control through creative games, scrimmages, and obstacle-style activities.

Chess NYC is now accepting limited registration for our famous FUN “After-School Groups” forSpring 2026 (can you believe it?). Grouped by skill level and age, children will grow through sections beginning with Head Start™ for absolute beginnings, Advancing (planning a game), and GM Inspired tactics™ (diabolical). All levels will emphasize the fun and sport of the game. Promotions within sections will automatically occur during the semester, but the schedule remains the same. See you there!

iPianoLab
iPianoLab is the fresh, fun way to learn piano or keyboard, RIGHT AT SCHOOL! iPianoLab sets up a portable keyboard lab at YCS, with a keyboard and headphones for each student enrolled.
And unlike traditional piano methods which focus on months of boring “baby” songs and drills, iPianoLab students get to play REAL music, the songs they LOVE, right from the first class! Whether it's Imagine Dragons or Taylor Swift, Super Mario or Zelda, even Bach and Beethoven, they're all within reach, right from day one!
All the keyboard basics are covered. such as note reading, timing and rhythm, chords and much more, all with an emphasis on FUN! 7-1 teacher student ratio, plus lots of recitals for parents to see and hear their student's progress. Registration includes FREE access to our online site which features fun learning games as well as video tutorials for all the lessons and songs for at-home practice. Classes meet Mondays or Wednesdays, right after school.

THE RENASCENT INSTITUTE (Foreign Language Program)
The Renascent Institute offers Spanish language after school for students in K-5 th grade at its school site. The teachers tailor the new language classes for each group level and align the instruction with the academic school curriculum. Native teachers incorporate the Spanish language in a welcoming and nurturing environment with unique teaching materials and games from Spain. The goal of this program is to expose the children to the Spanish language through routines, storytelling, songs, puppets, arts and craft, dance, and games to develop their listening, speaking and comprehension skills. In this program teachers will challenge the children to begin using simple words and phrases to respond to commands related to routines and various activities, as well as to respond to familiar stories. Experienced, dedicated, and talented teachers conduct classes in Spanish one day a week from school dismissal until 5:00 pm on Mondays To register visit:
