About the PTA

The YCS PTA is here to support and strengthen our school community alongside the YCS school leadership. The YCS PTA's mission is to:

  • Support the best possible learning environment for YCS children to ensure that they all have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.  

  • Sponsor and fund educational opportunities needed to supplement existing Department of Education programs to reach an ideal learning environment.

  • Advocate the well-being of the YCS children by representing their needs to governing bodies.

  • Connect with the surrounding community to foster a positive environment to achieve the health, safety and success for all our children.

The Yorkville Community School PTA strives to be an inclusive organization with a belief in the intrinsic value of diversity. We strongly believe that by working together, we can make a difference for our school.

Welcome, from the YCS Executive Board

Whether you are new to YCS or returning for another year, we wanted to take a moment to welcome you on behalf of the YCS Parent Teacher Association (PTA), and tell you a bit about what we do.

The PTA’s mission is to support our amazing students, dedicated staff, and vibrant local community in a way that is inclusive, positive, and enriching. Throughout the year, we’ll have lots of opportunities to come together through school events, volunteer projects, and community celebrations, and we’d love for you to join us.

Getting involved with the PTA is a meaningful way to connect with other families, support your child’s experience at school, and give back to the YCS community. With your help, we can make it a truly incredible year. We have two major fundraising events throughout the year to put on your radar: the much-anticipated Fall Festival in October and our annual Auction in the spring. We rely on the participation of YCS families to ensure their success—and have many different ways that you can get involved.
