YCS NEEDS YOUR VOTE! ROOFTOP YARD FOR YCS!

Residents of City Council District 5 will decide how to spend ONE MILLION DOLLARS of PARTICIPATORY CITY BUDGET FUNDS. And YCS is on the ballot with an important, needed project:

YCS desperately needs Capital funding to construct more recess space. We only have two very small open yards, one inside gym (converted from two classrooms) and no auditorium. Our cafétorium’s capacity is 250 and only seats 125. We have no other indoor activity spaces. Adding a rooftop yard will allow for more scheduled physical activity time, ease congestion in the building, and give students future opportunity to add a greenhouse. For a visual, please open the attached file to see some architectural renderings of our proposed outdoor space.

Come out, Vote and Spread the word! Get neighbors, friends and family to turn out! Grab some of the cards in the lobby and put them in your building lobby and laundry room! Hand them out at the playground! Every single vote can make a difference! Our kids need more space!
