Dear YCS Families,
We hope that you and your families are safe and well after the hurricane. We look forward to all students returning to YCS on Monday, November 5th.
As we learned this week, it is not always possible to have access to school wide email. Additionally, our school phones are still experiencing problems and with the extensive damage to phone service citywide, our phones may not be fully functioning next week. Therefore, it is important for families to get information on emergency school closings by:
- Watching local news stations
- Calling 311
- Checking the Department of Education website – schools.nyc.gov for updated information.
To be proactive and avoid any unknowns, we encourage families to send their child to school with a bagged lunch on Monday. This will be helpful in case there are any problems with food service due to supply and demand.
Reminder: School will be closed on Tuesday, November 6th for Election Day.
