YCS Coin Drive
This is the last week to drop off your YCS Coin Drive Boxes to the bins in the lobbies by Friday, February 1st! Let’s try to surpass last year’s participation and numbers. Every box counts no matter how much is inside!! The top 3 classes are PK-204 (60.87%), 1-309 (52.63%), 2-409 (52.38%) with PK-206 and 5-507 close behind. It’s such a close race that even 1 box returned can make a difference, so keep them coming. As promised the top 3 classes will win a class prize. Thank you!
International Night
International Night was an epic success with 18 showcases, and over 35 dishes from around the world! This success could not have been accomplished without the efforts of the International Night planning team: Malee Sebag, Marina Berisha, Amanda Wells, Nancy Mark, Sarah McCash, Júlia Trujillo, Juliet Krantweiss and Sarina Appel. Plus the many families who volunteered their time hosting unforgettable showcases, donating delicious exotic cuisines, and performing their cultural song and dance.
Thank you all so much!
This event SOLD OUT in record time. If you have interest in showcasing next year as a new or returning showcase family, please reach out to us anytime throughout the year. We can get ahead of planning for next year and we will try our best in finding ways to make this event more accommodating to as many families in our YCS community as possible.

2019 YCS Auction Donations and Support Needed!
Our 2019 Auction will be held on Saturday, March 23rd and we’d like to meet or exceed last years numbers, so please start thinking about items you might be able to donate. The YCS Spring Auction is our largest fundraiser of the year, and every dollar we raise helps support the valuable enrichment programs all our children enjoy and that are not funded by the Department of Education. To contribute a donation, please contact our Co-VP for Major Fundraising, Kate Hrobsky at khrobsky@me.com. Thank you in advance for your generosity! (Form attached!)
For the class projects we are collecting empty toilet paper rolls for the school wide art project that will serve as the decorations. They can be dropped off in the bin outside the PTA office. Also, if you have any bottles of wine laying around the house we will take them! We are going to do a “Grab A Bottle of Wine” at the auction so we need as many as we can collect. These can also be dropped off at the PTA office. If you can’t make it to the PTA office, you can email Kate at khrobsky@me.com to coordinate a drop off.
In addition to donations, the Auction Committee is looking for some assistance both before and after the event to plan and prepare. If you are interested in helping and can give some time please contact Kate Hrobsky at khrobsky@me.com. Particularly looking for people that are good with computers to work with Excel and Word documents!
