Daily Arrival and Dismissal at YCS for 2022-23

We thank you in advance for your cooperation with our necessary arrival and dismissal procedures. Every procedure is in place to ensure the health and safety of all members of our community. Official School Hours- 8:20am-2:40pm Arrival and Dismissal Procedures will be shared with families prior to the first day of school.  Daily Health Screenings *Daily health screening are no longer required for students or staff* *Visitors may still be asked to provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19* To ensure that students do not report to school if they have or potentially may have COVID-19 or are feeling ill, a health screening, including a temperature check, must be completed by all students and visitors before entering NYCDOE school facilities. Safety Protocols

Dear YCS Families, I am writing to provide you with information about the Department of Education’s Emergency Readiness Initiatives that are in place in all NYC Public Schools. Every School currently has procedures for emergencies. In 2000, New York State Education Law Section 2801 was enacted requiring schools to develop safety plans regarding emergency response. In July of 2001, the law was amended to require that plans include information for evacuation and sheltering. In accordance with this, “schools need to conduct drills and other exercises to test components of the emergency response plan.” School staff members are trained in various procedures that are outlined in the School Safety Plan and we currently conduct a variety of drills throughout the year to prepare our staff and students.
