BILL HARLEY FAMILY CONCERT
 Updated November 5, 2011

We were all so excited to welcome Bill Harley, a two-time Grammy award-winning artist and author to our school on November 2 and 3rd. Bill used song and story to paint an animated and amusing picture of growing up, schooling and family life.

With smiles from ear to ear, we would like to extend a huge thank you for both the Sold-Out Bill Harley concert and the two days of works shops that our children enjoyed. Due to the overwhelming generosity of our families we were able to raise over $1200 for our new library!

We would like to specifically thank the Turtel Family for introducing us to Bill and underwriting his fee, and the Mischel and McKiernan Families for providing the food and beverage that we all enjoyed. While you are out and about in the neighborhood, please be sure to stop by Luigi's and thank them for the generous discount extended to our school. For additional information check out Bill’s website at www.billharley.com.

THANK YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL YCS FALL FESTIVAL
Updated September 25, 2011

Thank you! The third annual fall festival was an incredible success! With gorgeous weather and a wonderful community spirit, the festival beat all expectations. From the smiles on the children's faces to the collegiality of the various teachers and staff, it is clear that at YCS we have built something impressive and special.

Of course, the festival could not have been a success without the participation of many parents, underwriters, community members and enrichment partners. We want to extend a heart felt thank you to the event chairs Gabrielle Goldberg and Maria Mischel and the many wonderful volunteers, to the generous family underwriters and corporate donors, to the bakers and our enrichment partners.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of many, YCS was able to raise close to $10,000,
much more than we have raised at this event in the previous years. This puts us one step closer to our goal of raising the funds necessary for all of our students to experience the wonderful programs provided by our enrichment partners. From chess to music, each program adds depth to the incredible education that our children are getting at YCS.

Once again, thank you to all that worked so hard to make this year's Fall Festival such an incredible success.  - Caroline Hall and Lori Levin

SECOND ANNUAL YCS AUCTION - A WONDERFUL EVENING AND GREAT SUCCESS!
Updated May 12, 2011

Through the generous donations of our local retailers, restaurants and service providers, this year’s Yorkville Community School/PS 151 Spring auction was a huge success!  We would also like to offer a special thank our event underwriters.  Decorations, catering and rentals were provided by Bloomers Florist and Event Planning Tel: 914-969-7955 / 800-426-4205.  The evening’s sponsors also included Trafficbuyer DigitalCapital One, Konica Minolta, and Pinkberry.

As a new school, we rely on the support of our community to help us continue to offer the varied enrichment programs that have been introduced to our children by our wonderful Principal, Samantha Kaplan.  Whether it is music and the arts or chess or physical education, each of these programs adds a dimension to our children’s education and enriches their lives.  Keeping our children engaged in these activities also helps develop their natural curiosity and love of learning.

Thank you all again and again for your generosity.

A TASTE OF YORKVILLE
Updated April 29, 2010

The First Annual YCS Taste of Yorkville was an incredible success! Conceived of and led by Sue Fosmoen, Glenn Hardy and Fredda Plesser with the support of an exceptional team of volunteers, the event was the social and fundraising highlight of Yorkville Community School’s inaugural year.

Through the generosity of the many donors of incredible products and services and the enthusiastic bidding of over 150 attendees, we raised more than $19,000! All of the evening’s proceeds will fund the meaningful enrichment programs that our children enjoy each day. We were also able to raise $750 by direct donations for our classroom libraries – another truly wonderful accomplishment.

We would also like to thank Samantha Kaplan and our incredible faculty team for attending the evening along with family and friends and donating such generous items for auction bidding. The honor of being Assistant Principal for the day, special student/teacher events, class art projects and more were a hit of the evening and accounted for a remarkable 25% of the total raised!

The delicious food that all enjoyed was graciously provided by our local favorites:
