ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES

Updated September 27, 2011

ARRIVAL:  The school day begins at 8:40 AM.

The Main Lobby doors open at 8:35 AM, (rain, snow or shine).

All students enter our school building through the main doors that lead into the Main Hall. Your child is allowed to enter the school on his/her own; a staff member will always be there to greet him/her. In order to maximize instructional time, our goal is to have students to class promptly by 8:40 AM.

DISMISSAL (Please click here for recent updated changes in the Dismissal Process):

The school day ends at 3:00 PM.

The Main doors open at 3:00 PM (rain, snow or shine).

Kindergarten: The West Lobby will open at 2:50 and close at 3:00 PM. Caregivers will enter and go up to classrooms through the stairways in the West Lobby Students will be dismissed from K classrooms. Caregivers should not enter the room.  Children must shake the teachers hand and will leave one at a time. Conversations should be limited to a “Hello/Good Bye”

First and Second Grade: The East Lobby doors will open at 2:55 PM.  Students will be dismissed from the East Yard. Children must say “Good Bye” to their teacher before being dismissed. Conversations should be limited to a “Hello/Good Bye”

All STUDENTS: Any changes to a child’s regular after school schedule must be submitted in writing to your child’s teacher, (i.e. play-dates, no after-school program, an adult picking up your child who is not on your Blue Card). Verbal permission, over the phone or in person, will not be accepted.

Inclement Weather Dismissal- (rain, snow, etc.)

Kindergarten – Same as above

First and Second Grade – Enter though the East Lobby. Dismissal is from designated tables in the Cafe Late Pick-up - Arriving After Dismissal Kindergarteners who have not been picked up from their classroom by 3:00pm are escorted to the “Late” Table in the Café. First and Second Graders who are not picked up on-time will be escorted to the “Late” Table in the Café. Caregivers must sign children out upon pick-up. It is helpful that your child knows all important contact numbers or has them written down, (perhaps in a special pocket in their back-pack).

BREAKFAST:  Breakfast is served from 8:00 AM - 8:20 AM. Students may not enter the building for breakfast after 8:25 AM to ensure ample time for them to eat. Children eating breakfast will use the main entrance, by Security, to enter the building. Children will not be permitted to enter the school between 8:25 AM and 8:40 AM so that we may prepare for arrival.

HALF-DAY DISMISSAL:  The school day ends at 11:30 AM. The main doors open at 11:30 AM (rain, snow or shine). All Students will be provided the opportunity to eat lunch on half days. Students may bring lunch from home or eat school lunch. Please coordinate with your child's afterschool to ensure that it is in session on these days.
